Wildcard SSL allows you to secure an unlimited number of subdomains with a single certificate. It's a great solution for anyone hosting or managing multiple sites or webpages under the same domain.
Unlike a Standard SSL Certificate, which is issued to a single fully qualified domain name, a WildCard SSL Certificate is issued to *.yourdomain.com, where the asterisk represents all possible subdomains.
Organization Validated SSL (OV)
Organization Validation certificates confirm that you own the domain and that your company is legitimate. They include a dynamic trust seal showing the organization's name with a date and time stamp, which any visitor can check with one click.
They are a good fit for small and medium-sized businesses that want to go beyond standard encryption and build more trust with their visitors.
What is the difference between the types of SSL certificates?
They all use the same 256-bit encryption. What changes is what gets verified and how many domains they cover:

Do I need a WildCard SSL if I have multiple subdomains?
If you have or plan to have multiple subdomains (such as blog.yourdomain.com, shop.yourdomain.com, etc.), a WildCard certificate is the most cost-effective option. It lets you secure an unlimited number of subdomains with a single certificate, saving you the cost of buying individual certificates for each one.
