Resource Usage Policy

Webzi establishes server resource limits (CPU, RAM, IOPS, and simultaneous processes) to ensure optimal and equitable performance for all our customers. This policy applies to all shared hosting services, WordPress hosting, business email, and reseller plans. Dedicated infrastructure services such as Legacy VPS, Cloud VPS, and dedicated servers have dedicated resources and are not subject to these shared limitations.

Default included resources

Each hosting account includes base resources that vary according to the contracted plan. The default minimum resources are:

  • CPU: 1 vCPU (virtual processor core)
  • RAM: 1 GB of memory
  • IOPS: Input/output operations according to plan specifications
  • Simultaneous processes: Concurrent process limit according to the contracted plan

The specific resources included in each plan can be consulted on the corresponding product pages:

Power Pack: Resource expansion

Customers who require additional resources can expand their capacity by purchasing a Power Pack. This option allows increasing CPU, RAM, and other performance parameters without needing to migrate to more complex infrastructure.

The Power Pack is a flexible solution that adapts to the growth of your website or application, allowing vertical scalability within the same hosting plan.

Monitoring and notifications

Webzi continuously monitors the resource usage of all hosting accounts. When an account exceeds the assigned resource limits (whether the base resources included in the plan or resources expanded through Power Pack), the system generates automatic alerts.

If your account consistently exceeds the assigned resources, you will receive an email notification to the contact address registered in your account. This notification will include:

  • Detailed description of the resources being exceeded
  • Usage metrics during the excess period
  • Recommendations for performance optimization
  • Available Power Pack options to expand resources
  • 48-hour deadline to make adjustments or acquire additional resources

Adjustment period: 48 hours

Once the resource excess notification is received, the customer has a 48-hour deadline to perform one of the following actions:

Option 1: Resource optimization

The customer may choose to optimize their website or application to reduce resource consumption. Optimizations may include, but are not limited to:

  • Cache implementation: Enable cache systems such as Redis, Memcached, or CMS cache plugins
  • Code optimization: Review and improve application code to reduce CPU consumption
  • Database query optimization: Identify and optimize slow or inefficient SQL queries
  • Image optimization: Compress and optimize multimedia files
  • CDN usage: Implement a content distribution network to reduce server load
  • Plugin/extension cleanup: Deactivate or remove unnecessary plugins that consume resources
  • Software updates: Keep CMS and its components up to date

Webzi offers technical support to guide customers through the optimization process. You can contact our support team via live chat or through the contact form.

Option 2: Power Pack acquisition

The customer can purchase or upgrade their Power Pack to a higher level that provides the necessary resources for optimal operation of their website or application.

Power Pack activation is immediate once payment is processed, and the new resources will be available instantly without the need for migration or additional configuration.

Service suspension due to resource excess

If 48 hours have elapsed since the notification and the customer has not made the necessary optimizations or acquired a Power Pack with superior resources, Webzi reserves the right to suspend the service with or without additional prior notice.

This measure aims to protect the stability and performance of the shared infrastructure, ensuring that all customers enjoy optimal service.

Suspension can be performed automatically by the monitoring system when usage patterns are detected that compromise server stability, or manually by Webzi's technical team after evaluating the specific case.

Reactivation of suspended service

Once the service has been suspended due to resource excess, the only way to remove the suspension is through the acquisition of a Power Pack with sufficient additional resources to support the account's usage level.

It will not be possible to reactivate the service through optimizations while the account remains suspended. The customer must:

  1. Purchase an appropriate Power Pack through the client area at my.webzi.mx
  2. Once payment is processed, the service will be automatically reactivated
  3. After reactivation, the customer may perform optimizations on their site

Power Pack reduction after optimization

If the customer purchased a Power Pack to reactivate their service and subsequently managed to optimize their website or application significantly reducing resource consumption, they may request reduction or cancellation of the Power Pack.

In this case, the system will automatically calculate a prorated credit that will be applied to the customer's account at Webzi. This credit can be used for:

  • Renewal of existing services
  • Acquisition of additional services
  • Future Power Pack purchases if necessary

Credit calculation is performed considering the remaining time of the Power Pack billing period and is applied proportionally. For example, if a monthly Power Pack of $500 is cancelled after 15 days, a credit of approximately $250 will be generated (proportional to the unused time).

To request the reduction or cancellation of a Power Pack, the customer must contact the billing department through the client area or through the contact form.

Exception cases

Webzi recognizes that exceptional circumstances may exist that generate temporary spikes in resource usage. In the following cases, each situation will be evaluated individually:

  • Legitimate traffic spikes: Events, advertising campaigns, media coverage, etc.
  • DDoS attacks or intrusion attempts: The security team will work to mitigate the attack
  • Technical issues attributable to infrastructure: Server or network failures
  • First 24 hours of a new site: Stabilization period after migration or launch

In these exceptional cases, the technical support team may grant extensions to the adjustment period or implement alternative measures. It is essential that the customer communicates with support as soon as they receive the notification to explain their particular situation.

Real-time resource monitoring

Customers can monitor their resource usage in real-time through the tools available in cPanel. In the "CPU and Concurrent Connection Usage" and "Resource Usage" sections, you can view:

  • Current CPU usage (in percentage and processor time)
  • RAM memory consumption
  • Number of active concurrent processes
  • IOPS (input/output operations per second)
  • Historical graphs of resource usage

It is strongly recommended that customers periodically review these metrics to identify growth trends and plan in advance for the need for optimizations or resource expansion.

Recommendations and best practices

To maintain optimal resource usage and avoid suspensions, Webzi recommends:

  • Implement cache systems from the start: Don't wait for performance issues
  • Keep software updated: CMS, plugins, and themes should be in their latest versions
  • Perform periodic performance audits: Identify bottlenecks before they become problems
  • Optimize databases regularly: Clean unnecessary tables and optimize indexes
  • Monitor traffic and usage patterns: Anticipate future resource needs
  • Implement lazy loading for images and multimedia content: Reduce initial page load
  • Use modern image formats: WebP, AVIF to reduce file size
  • Minify and compress CSS and JavaScript files: Reduce the weight of static resources
  • Evaluate the need for each plugin or extension: Each additional component consumes resources

Purpose of this policy

This policy is not designed to limit the legitimate growth of our customers' websites, but to ensure that Webzi's shared infrastructure operates optimally and equitably for everyone.

Our goal is to provide a high-quality, stable, and reliable hosting service. The established resource limits are generous and calculated to support the vast majority of websites and applications without any inconvenience.

Webzi is committed to working together with its customers to find solutions that allow the sustainable growth of their web projects, whether through optimizations, Power Packs, or migration to dedicated infrastructure when the project requires it.
